Based on the guide from tech-chimp.com I transformed my lenovo ideapad s10 into a nice MacBook with Snow Leopard 10.6.3 installed on it.
I want to show you guys in a detailed guide how to do so, too.
What you need and how much it costs you:
- Lenovo IdeaPad S10 or S10e (I bought mine at amazon for 199€)
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard Disc (29€ [29$] at apple.com)
- 8GB USB Flash Drive (mine was 15€)
- S10 Snow Leopard Enabler (LINK)
- A real Mac to prepare your USB drive.

Ok let’s get started:
Step 1:
Update the Firmware of you Lenovo IdeaPad S10
Download this file and run it (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-72939.html)
Don’t skip this step or otherwise some of the features won’t work.
Step 2:
On a real Mac prepare your USB drive.
This picture shows what you need:
Plug your USB Drive into your Mac.
Open Disk Utility (in German: Festplattendienstprogramm)
Select your USB drive and click on the "Partition" tab. Under "Volume Scheme:", select "1 Partition". Leave "Format:" as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Give your volume a name, and press "Apply" Next, click the "Restore" tab and define Source and Destination as pictured below. Make sure "Erase destination" is checked. Finally, press the "Restore" button.
Now the content of the Mac OS X Install DVD is on you DVD drive. In the next step we will manipulate it so you can use it on you netbook.
Step 3:
You can now eject your original DVD.
Open the S10 Snow Leopard Enabler now and apply it to your prepared usb drive. (NOT TO YOUR ACTUAL MAC HARDDRIVE)
After you that your USB Drive should look like this:
Step 4:
Now that everything is prepared go ahead and boot your Lenovo S10 from the OS X USB Drive.
When your Bios Screen appeas which shows you the Lenovo Logo press F12. (Fn + F11)
Now you get the options how to Boot your S10. Choose your USB Drive from the bootmenu.
Now it should show you the Apple Logo and after a while also show you the Language Options.
Choose your Language and click next (or press enter, since you can’t see the “next” button).
Then you should see these screens:
Don’t click “next” (Fortfahren)!
First you should format the Harddrive of the Lenovo S10. To do so open Disc Utility (in the menubar under “Utilities” or in german: “Dienstprogramme”)
Select your hard disk, and click on the "Partition" tab. Under "Volume Scheme:", select "1 Partition". Click "Options…" and select "GUID Partition Table". Press OK. Leave "Format:" as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Give your volume a name, and press "Apply". See pictures below:

Now go back to the welcome screen (just close the window) and click on “next”.
Select the Drive you just prepared and click “install” or click “custom” if you want to deselect some packages you don’t want to install. Wait until it is finished.
If it fails or gets stuck while installation don’t panic. Thats what happend to me the first time, too.
Just boot again from the USB drive and do all the steps (except the formation of you harddrive) again.
After a few seconds you Netbook (or now MacBook) should restart. If you get a message like this,
just restart again by pressing and holding the power button.
When it boots it sais that your display cannot be used. That is normal. Just click ok.
Now that you have booted succesfully you are done!
You now have a nice and cheap MacBook Mini.
Get some Apple Logo stickers and finalize your Lenovo S10.
